Jun 24, 2023(June 23) Geauga County Pastor Pleads Guilty To Sexual Crimes Against Minors | Chardon, OH
A Thompson Township pastor pleaded guilty Wednesday in Geauga County Court of Common Pleas to several sexual crimes against juveniles.
According to court documents, Dennis Laferty pleaded guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of sexual imposition.
Laferty, 37, was indicted following an investigation by detectives into allegations of sexual abuse involving minors between Nov. 30 2019 and Jan. 30.
Laferty was the pastor at the Thompson United Methodist Church.

(June 22) Oregon Religious Leader Convicted Of Child Sexual Abuse Sentenced To 13 Years In Prison | Portland, OR
Michael Sperou, longtime leader of the Christian North Clackamas Bible Community in Happy Valley, was sentenced for two counts of unlawful sexual penetration.
An Oregon religious leader convicted multiple times of sexually abusing a former church member when she was a child has been sentenced to more than 13 years in prison.
Circuit Judge Andrew Lavin sentenced Michael Sperou Tuesday for two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, The Oregonian/OregonLive reported. The judge granted Sperou credit for time served in previous cases but said he is ineligible for other sentence reduction programs and ordered him to register as a sex offender.

(June 17) Andy Savage Pastor Admitted His Sexual Incident With The Student Before 20 Years | TN
On Tuesday, Andy Savage, the pastor of a Tennessee megachurch who had previously admitted to having a “sexual incident” with a high schools student 20 years ago, announced his resignation and said he would “step away from ministry.”
Savage, 42, received a standing ovation from the congregation of Highpoint Church in January when he confirmed the encounter with Jules Woodson in 1998.

(June 16) Nederland 18-year-old indicted for sexually assaulting 12-year-old girl | Nederland, TX
An 18-year-old Nederland resident has been indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Wyatt Kaden Hammer has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
A probable cause affidavit filed by Nederland Police says that the child told her mother that Hammer had sexually assaulted her outside of a church on Helena Avenue, and also at Hammer’s home,
The affidavit went on to say that during a police interview, Hammer confessed to sexually assaulting the girl.
