A now-former Baptist pastor was sentenced to well over a decade in a New Hampshire prison on Thursday after pleading guilty to charges related to child sexual abuse materials.
Stephen Bates, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of the manufacture of child sexual abuse images and 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse images. He was arrested in March 2022 on one count of possession of such images. Over time, he was indicted on 12 separate counts and faced a combined 240 years in prison.

(October 12) Church Leader In Portland Area Touched Two Girls In His Congregation Inappropriately, Police Say | Beaverton, OR
A Beaverton pastor faces eight sex-abuse charges for allegedly touching two teen girls who were in his congregation, Beaverton police said Wednesday.
Christopher Michael Pruitt, 39, is a pastor at Our Father’s House Ministries, which operated out of his north Beaverton home until relocating recently to north Portland, police said. He allegedly touched the two girls inappropriately Sept. 29, according to court records. He was arrested Oct. 5.

(October 12) Texas Pastor Accused Of Sexually Abusing Juvenile Family Member For Over Decade, Impregnating Her At 16 | TX
A Houston-area pastor is behind bars after he allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile family member hundreds of times for more than a decade, and getting her pregnant, according to Texas court records.
Court records allege that 39-year-old Robert L. Carter was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and sexual assault of a child under the age of 17, both felonies.
The criminal complaint, which was obtained by Fox News Digital, alleges that Carter began abusing the girl when she was 7 years old in 2008. At the time, Carter was married to the girl’s mother.
