Scott Verti alleges Timothy Evans sexually assaulted him more than 100 times between 1998 and 2003. Scott Verti hopes a lawsuit will begin to remedy a long-held regret.
The 37-year-old Denver man on Thursday sued former Catholic priest Timothy Evans, the Archdiocese of Denver and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish over allegations that Evans sexually assaulted Verti at the Fort Collins church two decades ago.

A man who alleges he was sexually molested by a priest two decades ago filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit Thursday against the Archdiocese of Denver, a parish in Fort Collins and a disgraced former clergyman.
Scott Verti, 38, said he was an altar boy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Fort Collins when Father Timothy Evans was assigned there in the late 1990s.

(January 13) Five Women Sue Christian Organization Alleging Cover-Up Of Child Sexual Abuse | California
Five women in California have filed a lawsuit alleging that the International Churches of Christ perpetrated a “systemic scheme of abuse” that included the sexual abuse of children as young as three years old and financial abuse of its members.
The lawsuit names plaintiffs Darleen Diaz, 33, Bernice Perez, 31, Ashley Ruiz, 31, Salud Gonzalez, 30, and Elena Peltola, 23.

(January 13) A Retired Priest Who Made Slideshow Presentations Using Thousands Of Child Sex Abuse Images Will Spend 5 Years In Prison | St. Louis, MO
A retired priest in St. Louis, Missouri, was sentenced to five years in prison after police discovered he had created a PowerPoint presentation containing thousands of images of child sexual abuse material.
The US Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Missouri announced on Tuesday that James T. Beighlie, 72, had amassed 6,000 pictures containing child sexual abuse on one computer, as well as 236 images and 40 videos of similar content on another.

(January 13) New Sex Abuse Lawsuit Targets LDS Church, Utah Boy Scout Council | Utah
A Washington state man is suing a Utah Boy Scout council and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, alleging he was sexually abused as a child by Scout leaders while living in the Beehive State.
The man, referred to by the pseudonym John Doe, says he was abused in or around 2009 while under the supervision of the Boy Scouts of America. The 3rd District Court suit asserts Doe was abused due to negligence on behalf of the church, the Boy Scouts of America and the Crossroads of the West Council — a regional BSA organization that includes all of Utah.
