Feb 04, 2023(February 01) Former Celebration Church Pastor Sues Current Leadership, Alleges Fraud | Jacksonville, FL
The embattled former pastor of Celebration Church is now fighting back with a countersuit against some of the megachurch’s current leadership.
The lawsuit, filed in court Jan. 19, said trustees conspired to “...create and publicly disseminate a false and defamatory narrative and statements... to try to destroy [the Weems’] reputations, humiliate them, and prevent Pastor Weems from continuing his ministry elsewhere.”

(January 31) Abuse Survivors Say Catholic Church Has Failed To Disclose Hundreds Of Cases In NJ
Four years ago, when New Jersey's Catholic dioceses released a list of 188 clergy who had been "credibly accused" of sexually assaulting children, church leaders vowed that they would continue to update the names as new allegations arose.
Newark's inventory of 63 credibly accused clerics remains unchanged − even after hundreds of sex abuse lawsuits have been filed against the Archdiocese and accusers have received settlements from a fund established to compensate victims.

(January 31) City Of Birmingham Suing Church Developer To Return Land And Money Over Incomplete Project | Birmingham, LA
The City of Birmingham has filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County against a church developer, for land and money back, after it alleges the agreement made back in 2014 wasn't held up.
According to court documents, the defendants are listed as Fifth Episcopal District Development Inc., doing business as Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, and Birmingham Annual Conference Fifth Episcopal District C.M.E. Church, also known as Birmingham Region on behalf of the Fifth Episcopal District.
