A Baldwin County church is picking up the pieces after an EF-1 tornado blew through the property Sunday morning. Northside Baptist Church Interim Pastor Mike Whelan and several church members say it's devastating to look at the damage from Sunday's tornado, but the timing was a blessing.

South Carolina Church Catches Fire During Storms | Anderson County, SC
Fire crews were called to the North Anderson Seventh Day Adventist Church for a fire early Monday morning.
A South Carolina church caught fire overnight Monday during severe weather.
The fire broke out at the North Anderson Seventh Day Adventist Church on Highway 81 North.
The church was heavily damaged by the fire.

Two United Church of Christ congregations have been targeted by far-right groups for sponsoring drag shows in their respective communities.
Both churches have been receiving hate messages and threats. Both also have been attacked and maligned by white nationalist organizations. And both congregations remain deeply committed to their call as Open and Affirming churches and as places of refuge for marginalized people in their communities.

(March 27) Mississippi Tornado Damages Episcopal Church, Parishioners’ Homes In Rolling Fork | Rolling Fork, MS
The tornado that tore through the town of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, late in the evening of March 24 severely damaged the Episcopal Chapel of the Cross there, according to information from the Episcopal Church in Mississippi.
Bishop Brian Seage visited Rolling Fork on March 26 and told Episcopal News Service that so far as is known, no church members were killed by the tornado but almost all of them suffered damage to their homes and property. While the church building took the brunt of the storm, its parish hall lost part of its roof but, he said, it appears to be structurally sound. The church has a membership of about 20 families, he said, and is served by a part-time rector, the Rev. Greg Proctor.
