Feb 11, 2023(February 9) Garden City Man Arrested On 162 Counts Of Theft From Church | Garden City, KS
Police began investigating the theft on Jan. 31 after being contacted by the First Baptist Church. The church said an individual had been using the church’s debit card, and the church was missing approximately $100,000.00.
During the investigation, police identified Manuel Terrazas, 36, of Garden City, as the suspect. He was arrested at the Finney County Law Enforcement Center and booked into jail on 162 counts of criminal use of a financial card and 162 counts of theft.

(February 9) DeKalb County Woman Says Burglar Stole Dog, Valuables While She Was At Church | Dekalb County, GA
A DeKalb County woman is desperate to find her dog after she says someone broke into her home and took him while she was at church.
"I just don’t understand why someone would just take him. He needs his mommy. He needs his mommy," Kim Walker said.
Kim Walker struggles to understand how and why anyone would break into her DeKalb County home and steal her 7-year-old fur family friend, Hershey.

(February 9) KPD Searching For Suspect In Theft Of Church Van | Kingsport, TN
A review of surveillance video footage revealed that the Dodge was stolen between 4:30 and 5 p.m., according to police. A white male suspect could be observed using burglary tools to break into and steal the van.
Kingsport police are searching for a suspect who stole a 15-passenger van from Holy Mountain Baptist Church.
The theft of the 1993 light blue Dodge happened Tuesday night on church property located at 3121 Ashley St., according to police. The vehicle has since been located.

(February 7) Man Charged With Stealing Christmas Presents From Crystal Lake Church In Crystal Lake | IL
A Chicago man who is being held on numerous charges, including burglary and identity theft, is now charged with stealing presents from a church in Crystal Lake before Christmas.
George J. Ashetzie, 66, of Chicago, has been held in the McHenry County Jail since December 11.
Ashetzie was initially charged with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card, criminal trespass to vehicle, theft, burglary and identity theft.

(February 7) Tyler Pastor Convicted Of Stealing From Elderly Couple, Church Ordered To Pay $70,000 | Tyler TX
A longtime Tyler pastor and coach, who was convicted of stealing from an elderly couple and his former church in August, has been ordered to pay $70,000 back to the theft victims.
In August, Rev. Jerome Milton was sentenced to six months in the county jail and 10 years' probation. He admitted to using bank transfers and credit cards to steal from two elderly congregation members and stealing from Greater New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (the previous church he led) and the East Texas Communities Foundation.
