A 15-year-old boy is dead and another is charged with murder after a shooting in Augusta Tuesday night.
Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Good Hope Baptist Church on East Cedar Street for a shooting at 9:22 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
When deputies arrived, they found Juanya Holliman, 15, of Augusta, who was shot at least once in the upper body, according to the release. He was transported to Augusta University Medical Center and pronounced dead at 9:49 p.m.

(August 01) Man Shot In Florissant, Taken To Ferguson Church | Ferguson, MO
Ferguson police have provided an important update regarding an overnight shooting.
A shooting victim was located outside the Ferguson Church of The Nazarene in the 1300 block of Elizabeth Avenue, around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. There’s been no update on that person’s condition.
On Tuesday afternoon, Detective Steve Trikenskas, Ferguson Police Department, sent word that the shooting had occurred in Florissant, and that the victim was brought to the church immediately afterward.

(July 29) Oakland’s 61st Homicide Discovered In A Church Parking Lot | Oakland, CA
A 21-year-old man was found shot to death Saturday morning outside Oakland’s Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Authorities believe he was shot around 11:04 a.m. in the church parking lot, which is in the 600 block of Alma Avenue near Oakland High School. His name has not yet been released. The deceased, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was found by a neighborhood resident.
Police have not yet said when they believe the man was actually shot, but believe it was hours before he was found.
Police are trying to determine a motive for the killing and why the victim, who resides in another part of Oakland, was in that neighborhood. No arrests have been made.
