(June 23) Milwaukee Police Arrest 15-Year-Old Suspect In Juneteenth Shooting That Injured 6 | Madison, WI

Officers arrested a 15-year-old boy they now believe was the lone gunman in a shooting after a Juneteenth celebration that left six people wounded, Milwaukee police said Thursday.

The boy is the third person arrested in the shooting Monday outside the Greater Philadelphia Church of God in Christ. Police provided no information about the 15-year-old suspect, including why they now believe he was the lone shooter.

Two males ages 17 and 19 were arrested after the shooting, police said. Both of them had been shot. Police previously believed one of them had fired a weapon, but clarified Thursday that this is no longer the case.

(June 22) Teen Accused In Shooting Outside Wichita Church During Funeral Held On $5M Bond | Wichita, KS

A man charge in connection with a shooting last Friday, June 16, outside a Wichita church during a funeral, made his first appearance Wednesday in Sedgwick County District Court. Demetrius Carter, 18, faces five counts on charges that include aggravated assault, aggravated child endangerment and criminal damage to property.

Witnesses reported that Carter started shooting at a crowd of people near the front of New Life Church, near 11th and Oliver, after the family of the deceased turned him away. Police said when Carter began shooting, others in the crowd began shooting back, wounding Carter in his right forearm. No one else was wounded.

(June 22) Pineville Pastor, Wife Taken To Hospital After Shooting In Mississippi

Two people with ties to Cenla have been transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center after a shooting that took place at a hotel in McComb, Mississippi on Wednesday night, according to our sister station, WLBT.

News Channel 5 has learned that the alleged suspect, Danny Prenell, Jr., is the pastor of Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville. Both Prenell, Jr., and his wife, the victim, were taken UMMC. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

(June 20) Juvenile Shot Near Northwest Indy Church, 2 Juvenile Suspects Apprehended | Indianapolis, IN

A 16-year-old girl is at a local Indianapolis hospital after a group gathering led to a shooting Monday night in a church parking lot on the city’s northwest side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department crews were called just before 9 p.m. to the 5200 block of W. 62nd Street, near Northwestway Park and a Baptist church on the city’s northwest side, for a fight among juveniles.

Upon arrival, IMPD Lt. Larry Stargel said officers found a teen girl who had been shot in the leg in the parking lot of the church. IMPD also said that two juveniles were seen driving away from the area.

(June 19) Mother, Son Charged In Beating Death Of SC Man | Anderson County, SC

A mother and son who are charged with murder in a beating death were found outside a South Carolina church, according to authorities.

The investigation began Sunday morning when deputies were investigating a vandalism complaint along Henry Thomas Road in Anderson County.

Deputies said as they were walking the area, they found Paul Michael Owen, 50, of Belton dead outside a home.
