A man has been arrested after being caught on surveillance camera shooting at the windows of a church daycare in northwest Houston while at least eight babies were inside the room, according to the church’s pastor.
Juan Ruben Silva Ortiz, 43, is charged with felony terroristic threat.
Surveillance video from Advent Lutheran Church on Pinemont Drive showed him sitting on a second-floor apartment balcony firing toward the church on May 24, according to court documents.
It’s not the first time the church has been hit.

(June 2) Trial Preparation Begins For Man Accused Of killing, Burning Covington Priest And Church Worker | Covington, LA
The courthouse was packed on Thursday (June 1) as the man accused of killing a Covington priest and his longtime assistant returned to court for trial preparations.
Antonio Tyson faces two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of Father Otis Young and Ruth Prats, a longtime church employee, near St. Peter Church during the Thanksgiving weekend. Officials said the victims were found “burned beyond recognition” in downtown Covington.
Police say the victims were watching a Saints game when Tyson entered their home and killed them with blunt force before burning their bodies.

(June 1) Suspect Wanted For Man Found Dead Outside Victory Church In February | Bloomington, IL
The McLean County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help to locate a murder suspect.
According to McLean County Sheriff’s Facebook post, 23-year-old Desmond Sterling is wanted in McLean County on a warrant for the homicide of Kiejoun Watts in rural Bloomington on February 20.
Sterling’s whereabouts are unknown and is described as 5’10”, 185 pounds, thin mustache, short black hair and brown eyes.

(May 31) 11-Month-Old Dies After Being Left In Car While Parents Went To Church | FL
An 11-month-old baby girl has died after being left in a car for three hours while her parents attended a Florida church service, police said.
Police in Palm Bay responded Sunday around 1 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive infant in a vehicle.
"When they arrived, they learned the infant had been left in a car for approximately three hours while the parents went to the church service," the Palm Bay Police Department said in a statement.
The infant was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased, police said Tuesday. A police department spokesperson did not have the time of death available.
No arrests have been made in the case at this time and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

(May 31) Arrest Made In Murder Of New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour| New brunswick, NJ
Councilman Eunice Dwomfour was shot and killed by someone she knew from church, authorities in Sayreville, New Jersey announced Tuesday.
Rashid Ali Bynum, 28, of Portsmouth, Virginia, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning just before 11 a.m.
Police say Bynum knew Dwumfour from the Champions Royal Assembly Church in Newark and they worked together at the church.
