Apr 01, 2023(March 29) ‘Our Heart Is Broken,’ Nashville Mayor Says As City Comes Together To Grieve 6 Killed In School Shooting | Nashville, TN
Grief-stricken Nashville residents came together for a vigil Wednesday to mourn three 9-year-old children and three adults killed in the mass shooting at a private Christian school.
First lady Jill Biden was in attendance as community members honored the victims, prayed and shared in the heartache. Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow performed her song “I Shall Believe” to the grieving crowd.
“Just two days ago was our worst day,” Mayor John Cooper said, opening the citywide vigil. “Our heart is broken. Our city united as we mourn together,” he added, asking community members to join hands.

(March 28) Johns Island Man Arrested After Shooting Outside Of Church, Police Chase In N. Charleston | SC
Police in North Charleston arrested a man on Sunday accused of opening fire on a church's fence, according to an incident report obtained by News 4.
Devon Goss, 32, is charged with discharging a firearm and damage to property less than $2,000.

(March 25) Bond Denied For Man Accused Of Killing Chicago Church Volunteer During Random Shooting Spree | Chicago
A Cook County judge on Saturday denied bond for the man accused of killing a church volunteer during a random shooting spree on Chicago's West Side.
A mother of three and dedicated church volunteer, Tracey Allen Showers lived for helping others. Her husband of 19 years says so much has changed without her.
“My family is still suffering, still wounded, still trying to heal,” said Pernell Showers, Tracey’s husband.
Showers was shot to death outside of her Austin home last month.

(March 25) 1 Week After Mass Shooting At Laguna Woods Church, OC Community Holds Interfaith Solidarity March | Laguna Woods, CA
One week has passed since the deadly mass shooting at Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods. On Sunday, the Orange County congregation came together to call for peace and tolerance.
It was the seventh annual Interfaith March held each year for peace and tolerance.
"This event is an antidote to all intolerance, bigotry and violence in the world... to build infrastructure between potential allies and friends, to help dissolve and disarm the hatred and intolerance that we see every day," said Dr. Arik Greenberg, a Loyola Marymount University professor of world religions, and founder and president of the Institute for Religious Tolerance, Peace and Justice.
