The alleged gunman in a Taiwanese church shooting in California last year that killed one and injured five others now faces nearly 100 federal charges, including hate crimes.
David Chou, 69, of Las Vegas, was arrested following the mass shooting at a Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California, on May 15, 2022. He is accused of pulling out a semi-automatic handgun and firing into a crowd during a luncheon to honor a pastor returning from Taiwan.

(May 10) Victim, Suspects Identified In Sevier County Shooting | Sevierville, TN
A man was shot in the leg on the side of the road near the church, Sevier County Sheriff’s Office officials told WVLT News.
One person was hurt in a shooting on the 2400 block of Goose Gap Road near Mountain View Church Tuesday, officials with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office told WVLT News.
Deputies responded to the scene after getting a 911 call about a person in the road, officials said. Deputies reported that they arrived to find 29-year-old Brandon Fernandez, shot in his thigh.
The on-scene deputies stopped Fernandez’s bleeding, officials said, until he could be taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he is now in stable condition.

(May 9) Brutal Attack Claims Life Of Beloved Christ Church Memphis Facilities Director | Memphis, TN
A robbery in broad daylight near the University of Memphis over the weekend claimed the life of 74-year-old Stephen Pearl.
Police are now on the hunt for the people responsible.
Pearl had only lived on Watson Street in the UofM area for just over a year. He was the director of facilities at Christ Church Memphis, located in East Memphis.
He is remembered by his family and neighbors like Ames Saunders as an easy-going and selfless man.

(May 9) Suspect Arrested In Connection To Two Church Point Shootings, Held On $2.2M Bond | Acadia Parish, LA
A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to two separate shootings in Church Point.
Jaden Citizen, 19, of Church Point, was arrested in connection to separate shooting incidents on S Broadway in the Keller St. area and Rosella St.
On April 18, police were dispatched to a call of shots fired on S Broadway.

(May 9) Suspect Arrested In Connection To Two Church Point Shootings, Held On $2.2M Bond | Acadia Parish, LA
A San Diego County Sheriff's Deputy shot an armed man who entered a Vista church Sunday threatening to kill himself, according to the agency.
At around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a report of a disturbance at the Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ at 1418 Calle Jules, officials said.
When deputies arrived, they learned the man, 77, had entered the church holding a gun to his head while people were still inside, the sheriff's department said.
