(May 19) Videos Show Gunman Saying 'Kill Me' To On Rushing Officers In New Mexico Rampage | Farmington, NM

Videos released by authorities in New Mexico recorded a voice said to be an 18-year-old gunman urging police to “kill me” during this week’s rampage that left three older women dead before officers fatally shot him outside a church. They also show Farmington police officers rushing toward the gunman. Police made the videos public at a news conference Thursday.

Authorities in Farmington have been probing for motivations behind Monday’s deadly attack by the high school senior, amid indications from relatives of prior mental health issues. Police say he sprayed bullets indiscriminately outside his home and while walking down a residential street.

(May 17) Elderly Man Shot By Deputy In Vista Was Holding Gun By End Of Pistol Grip | Vista, CA

Video clips have been released of a deputy shooting a seemingly suicidal 77-year-old man who appears to be holding the butt end of a pistol with two fingers outside a Vista church.

The septuagenarian, whose name has not been released and was walking with the aid of a cane, was slowly walking toward a parking lot in front of Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ in the 1400 block of Calle Jules when Deputy Justin Williams shot him on the afternoon of May 7, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The man remained hospitalized this week for treatment of gunshot wounds to his legs. He is expected to survive. The county District Attorney's Office has said it does not plan to file criminal charges against him over the encounter, sheriff's officials said.

(May 17) Man Convicted Of Fatally Shooting New Hampshire Pastor | 

A man has been convicted of fatally shooting a New Hampshire pastor in 2019 whose church he attended.

Brandon Castiglione, 28, was convicted Monday of two counts of second-degree murder in the death of Luis Garcia.

Garcia, 60, was found dead Oct. 1, 2019, inside Castiglione’s home in Londonderry. Garcia was a pastor at New England Pentecostal Ministries in Pelham and Castiglione attended the church and prayer services hosted by Garcia, prosecutors said.

(May 16) Covenant School Where Audrey Hale Fatally Shot 6 People Tries To Block Release Of Certain Records Tied To Massacre | Nashville, TN

The private Christian school where Audrey Hale slaughtered six people took legal action this week to stop the release of some records tied to the disturbing shooting, according to a legal filing.

The Covenant School and associated Covenant Presbyterian Church called on the court to intervene and “protect its interest relating” to Hale’s manifesto after lawsuits were filed seeking the release, according to a Monday court filing.

The two lawsuits against the city of Nashville seek the release of the manifesto and other information that was discovered in the aftermath of the shooting that killed three 9-year-old students and three school staffers, including the academy’s headmistress on March 27.

(May 13) Las Vegas Man Charged With Federal Hate Crimes In Connection With OC Church Shooting | Sta Ana, CA

A Nevada man has been charged with 98 counts of federal hate crimes and weapons and explosives offenses, including the murder of one person and attempted murder of 44 others, for his actions during the shooting and attempted bombing at the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church on May 15, 2022, the Justice Department announced May 11.

David Chou, 69, of Las Vegas killed one person and attempted to kill 44 others using firearms and explosive devices that he carried inside the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Southern California, according to the indictment returned Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana. In addition to the victim whom Chou fatally shot, five others were injured by gunfire. Chou allegedly acted because of the victims’ national origin and religion, and he intentionally obstructed the victims’ religious exercise.
