May 27, 2023(May 26) Scranton Woman Charged With Threatening To 'Shoot Up' Peckville Church | Blakely, PA
A North Scranton woman upset her boyfriend met with another woman sent Instagram messages to the Peckville church the woman attended threatening to shoot up the congregation, Blakely police said.
Leslie Isabel Pazmino Orquera, 26, was taken into custody on terroristic threats and other charges when Blakely police, assisted by state police and the Scranton Police Street Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant Thursday on her 1036 Diamond Ave. home.
She is accused of sending a series of messages to Peckville Assembly of God via Instagram last month threatening violence against the church, police said.

(May 24) Shooting Victim’s Car Runs Through North Memphis Church Fence | Memphis, TN
An overnight shooting in North Memphis left one man injured and the gunman on the run Wednesday.
According to Memphis Police, the shooting started along Seventh Street and ended on Thomas Street with an Infiniti crashing into the fence of a church.
Reports say a man was lying on the ground next to the vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

(May 21) ‘A Terrible Scene:' Innocent Bystander Shot Leaving Church Service In South Suburbs
Two suburban pastors recounted the terrifying moments when a hail of gunfire erupted, injuring one of their own members on Sunday just as their church ended services in South Holland.
Love & Deliverance International Ministries had just wrapped up its service at the South Holland Community Center, and members were leaving the building, when an estimated 20 shots were fired.
"My wife, she was running for her life," said Pastor Pirsia Allen. "I was running for my life. I got scraped up. I fell to the ground, was trying to run for cover...just a terrible scene."

(May 19) Video Of Deputy’s Non-Fatal Shooting Of Armed Man At Vista Church Released
Authorities Tuesday released video clips of a deputy’s non-fatal shooting of a seemingly suicidal 77-year-old man who approached sheriff’s personnel and bystanders with a gun in his hand outside a Vista church.
The armed septuagenarian, whose name has not been released, was slowly walking toward a parking lot in front of Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ in the 1400 block of Calle Jules when Deputy Justin Williams shot him on the afternoon of May 7, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
