Oct 23, 2023(October 17) 2-Year-Old Accidentally Shot By Sibling In Church Parking Lot | Burke County, NC
A 2-year-old child is in stable condition after an accidental shooting at a church in Burke County, North Carolina.
Deputies received the call about a gunshot wound at River Valley Baptist Church in Morganton shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency communications told responding officers that the victim was a 2-year-old child who had been shot in the head, according to department officials.
The child was airlifted to CMC Main in Charlotte. Deputies said the child was undergoing surgery and was in critical condition.

A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with a disturbance that led to shots being fired Sunday afternoon at a Nederland church pumpkin patch.
Jeremy Lane Pitman, 49, is being held in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on two felony charges in connection with the disturbance according to Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter.

A 19-year-old in Florida is accused of plotting a mass shooting at his former high school and preparing for a "stabbing spree" at a Miami church, authorities said.
Henry Horton is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $1 million bail, according to online court records. He is charged with one felony count of making written threats to kill or do harm.
