Jan 15, 2023(January 11) Body Found Shot, Burning Behind Memphis Church
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Detectives found a man shot dead in a South Memphis neighborhood Tuesday, and a witness says the body had been set on fire. Officers were called to the 1400 block of Gold Avenue just before 7 a.m. They say they found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police later confirmed that the victim’s name is Larry Thorn.
A witness, who did not want to be named, told WREG he saw the victim’s body burning in a parking lot behind a boarded-up church, as he drove by to visit family in the area.

(January 10) Casper Man Says He ‘Just Lost It’ When Stabbing Elderly In-Laws, Killing Stepfather-In-Law
Detectives learned that Dickerson’s wife was a pastor at St. Stephens Episcopal Church on Poplar Street in Casper, and he had keys to the church and would sometimes work there. A 61-year-old Casper man who reportedly confessed to attacking his cognitively impaired, elderly mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law over the weekend faces two life sentences in prison if convicted.
George Kevin Dickerson is charged with attempted second-degree murder relating to multiple stab wounds and injuries to his mother-in-law Rose Dennis, 84, and with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Dennis’ husband, 75-year-old Andy Martin.

(January 7) 2 Arrested For Robbery At Gunpoint In Church Parking Lot, Moore County Deputies Say
CARTHAGE, N.C. (WNCN) — Moore County deputies announced Friday that they have arrested two people after a robbery in a church parking lot.
On Dec. 26, deputies said they were called to Putnam Friends Church in Carthage in reference to a robbery. When they arrived, they said a man told them he had been robbed at gunpoint after traveling from Asheboro, North Carolina to meet an acquaintance.

(January 6) Church Members Shaken By Central City Mass Shooting: 'I Wish It Surprised Me'
A day after a mass shooting that left two people dead and three wounded, residents near the scene in Central City bemoaned the frequent violence and drug use that has plagued their neighborhood, and the city at large.
The shooting happened at the intersection of St. Andrew Street and Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way about 8:12 p.m. Thursday, as choir members at the nearby New Hope Baptist Church were finishing practice.
