(January 9) Arson Arrest Made In Word Of Life Church Fire In Chadwicks; Suspect's 3rd Arson Charge Since Mid-December
CHADWICKS, N.Y. – A man accused in two arsons that happened in December is now facing a third arson charge following the fire at Word of Life Church on Oneida Street in Chadwicks Sunday night.
New Hartford police have charged 43-year-old Mark Palmano with third-degree arson in connection to the basement fire set at the church just before 10 p.m. on Sunday.

(January 8) Fire Damages Out-Of-Service Church In North St. Louis
ST. LOUIS – A two-alarm fire led to significant damage Saturday afternoon at a north St. Louis church. The fire happened at a church known as “The Sanctuary” at the intersection of Rosalie Street and Red Bud Avenue in the O’Fallon neighborhood.
Investigators said the church has been vacant and out of use for several years, but one person was inside when it caught fire. One person in the basement kicked out some windows and got out of the building with some assistance from firefighters.

(January 7) Man Smashes Church Altar With Sledgehammer, Steals 1,500-Year-Old Relics
SUBIACO, Ark. - An Arkansas man was arrested this week for reportedly breaking into a church while intoxicated, smashing its altar with a sledgehammer, then stealing 1,500-year-old relics.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office in northwest Arkansas responded Thursday to Subiaco Abbey, a Catholic boarding school and monastery for Benedictine monks.

(January 7) Heartless NYC Vandals Desecrate Queens Church Nativity Scene
Gutless vandals desecrated a nativity scene outside a Queens church, pulling down lights, ornaments and damaging figures of the Baby Jesus and Virgin Mary.
The ugly attack outside St. Nicholas of Tolentine R.C. Church on Goethals Avenue in Jamaica Thursday night left the nativity in shambles, according to a church official and stunned parishioner Walter Ferrer, 55, who has helped set up the holy display for the last three Christmas seasons.
