Jan 15, 2023(January 11) St. Michael's Church In Mahim Enhances Security Measures Following Vandalism Incident
On January 7th, a cemetery connected to St. Michael's Church in Mahim was vandalized. As a result, the church committee is taking steps to enhance security and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
The vandals, who climbed the wall to gain entry, damaged 18 tombstones, statues, and holy crosses.

(January 11) Dozens Still In Captivity After Christmas Day Attack In Nigeria, Catholic Priest Says
Dozens of abductees are still being held in captivity following the Christmas Day attack on Angwan Aku Village in Kaduna, a state located in the north of Nigeria, a Catholic priest in the West African country has told ACI Africa in an interview.
On Christmas Day 2022, militant Fulani herdsmen and other terrorists attacked Angwan Aku village, reportedly killing one person and abducting 53 others, according to a Persecution.org report.

(January 9) DMPD: Bomb Threat Made Against Historically Black Church
DES MOINES, Iowa — Local law enforcement did not find any explosive devices in a historically Black church after a bomb threat was made Sunday morning, according to the Des Moines Police Department.
Police said a crisis counselor on the East Coast "had been in [an] online conversation with a person who said he had placed multiple devices" outside of Burns United Methodist Church. That person was threatening to detonate the devices later in the day.

(January 7) Suspicious-Looking Box Found At Rexburg LDS Temple Not A Threat To The Community, Police Say
REXBURG – Police activity at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple in Rexburg Friday night caused a bit of a stir. The Rexburg Police Department got a call around 5:45 p.m. about a suspicious box in front of the fence by the entrance to the parking lot on the east side.
Police set up yellow tape, escorted people out of the building and redirected traffic as a safety precaution, according to Assistant Police Chief Gary Hagen. He tells EastIdahoNews.com they brought in the Idaho Falls Police Department’s bomb squad to come and check it out.

(January 6) Church Guard Thwarts Catalytic Converter Theft In Chesapeake
A public safety officer patrolling a church parking lot during Sunday morning services scared off two thieves attempting to steal a truck’s catalytic converter, a church administrator tells 10 On Your Side.
This isn’t the first time catalytic converter thieves have hit this same church, located in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake. In May 2021, a thief was caught on camera walking away and getting into his car after taking a catalytic converter from a car parked at the church overnight.
